Questions about using profiles for X56, and checking if a problem I'm having is a universal issue, or if it can be corrected.

1. If I want to use a profile, I know how to program it in the X56 software, but do I need to clear the joystick inputs within DCS?

2. Having a slight issue with the joystick it tends to lean to the right as it has a little bit of play while in the centre position. It causes a slow roll. I can mimic the same roll speed to the left, but need to push it a bit. I'm using the spring that is first placed on the base and the joystick is tightened as much as I can hand tighten it. Would a dead zone in the centre of the stick cure this?

Thanks!

Your Q1 is not clear in my head but... I'd say that if you clear the joy inputs in DCS, probably the profile you got wouldn't work in DCS. The profile works nicely in profiler software, it's OK but, you need to bind joy inputs in DCS. We must discuss this.

Q2: Yes it helps a lot. For some AC modules I set 3% and for some I set 5% deadzone. But for example I know that some rolling to the left/right situations cause from the aircraft (i.e. P-51D or BF109-K4). So I don't set any deadzone. In those planes, setting deadzone is wrong to me.

I am using X56 Throttle only as I moved on to TM warthog stick. I remember I was never happy with profiles vs. DCS, there was always something not right.

I ended up ditching profile and software and mapped my X56 throttle unit within DCS alone.

That obviously left me with only one mode available, but it works and never had any problems with it since.

Yes. I do the same for Mode 1. DCS does already see the inputs and you can assign commands easily but, we need profiler software for mode 2 and 3.

Especially for switches and toggles on the throttle I assign a key combination on X56's software and, I bind same combination into DCS's keyboard column to let profiler triggers DCS command.

Q1: You should only need to clear DCS buttons that you are using in your profile. I.e. if your trigger used directly in DCS and you assigned the trigger to "ralt-" this will cause a conflict so you need to clear trigger assignments in the DCS controls menu.

Q2: Dead zone may be required. Recommend you re-calibrate the axes first if you haven't already.
