Thank you for you patience. Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..

sniffer Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Something similar can be expected this year too! With one important difference: there will be more that 100 airships (about 127). Look at the plans from 2009 year (can't imagine what will fly in 2020 in such growing tempo): [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

IvanK Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 (edited) Take a look at Kutasi airfield in Googlemaps. Three sticks of bombs are evident. Craters still clearly visible with signs of runway repair to at least 3 impacts on the runway. http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=42.177398,42.481256&spn=0.02293,0.054631&t=h&z=15 Edited May 9, 2010 by IvanK

However it seems it is not a built-in component, but attachable pod - 1 fuel tank less but still extra drag ;) Edited May 9, 2010 by Shaman 1 51PVO Founding member (DEC2007-) 100KIAP Founding member (DEC2018-) :: Shaman aka [100☭] Shamansky tail# 44 or 444 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 100KIAP Regiment Early Warning & Control officer
pauldy Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 (edited) Why in a pod? the japanese seem to have successfully placed the IRST on the aircraft's nose .or couldn't the IRST pod be placed just a bit forward the chaff/flares dispensers similar to the F-15E? EDIT: oh yah, that IRST pod seems long  Edited May 9, 2010 by pauldy [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

IvanK Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 Given they look like HE craters I would have thought any self respecting bomber pilot would have used a 30degree or so cut but 70degress is a little sloppy :)
