To whom it may concern,

I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that.

Thank you for you patience.

Something similar can be expected this year too!

With one important difference: there will be more that 100 airships (about 127).

Look at the plans from 2009 year (can't imagine what will fly in 2020 in such growing tempo):

I remember a swedish scientist or group inventing something based in insect eyes that are much more effective than current NVG equipment.

Arrival of OHIO ANG 178FW pilots on a completed two-week long combined arms excercise in Hungary. Participants were JAS-39, MiG-29 and Mi-24 combat aircrafts, along with a Hungarian Air Defense Battallion. Check the first gift the pilots received from the host :)

Lockheed Martin Developing System Requirements for F-15C IRST Program

Interesting. However it seems it is not a built-in component, but attachable pod - 1 fuel tank less but still extra drag ;)

Why in a pod? the japanese seem to have successfully placed the IRST on the aircraft's nose

.or couldn't the IRST pod be placed just a bit forward the chaff/flares dispensers similar to the F-15E?

EDIT: oh yah, that IRST pod seems long

Given they look like HE craters I would have thought any self respecting bomber pilot would have used a 30degree or so cut but 70degress is a little sloppy :)
