Strike Flanker? :D

file.php?style=12&id=12936&mode=view

I've read that the first flankers had secondary strike capability. Then in the mid 80s,the soviet doctrine changed and become purely defensive. Thus the su 27 become SU27P,a pure interceptor without air-to-surface weapons

GE are awesome engine, note the quick engine throttle changes without problems.

To whom it may concern,

I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that.

Thank you for you patience.

Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..

PW-F100-200C are hardly used anymore. The failiure results from the use of old fashioned temperature datum control with mechanic fuel control that cannot handle sudden pilot throttle imputs. The 220E and newer PW engines use digital FADEC's that dont have those issues as the pilots imputs are processed to be capped within limits, in analogous fashion as FBW. I know you know this, but I let this explanation for others to read. :)

Second video is a 220C not a 200C.

Last video is a 220E which uses a DEEC (Digital Electronic Engine Control IIRC) as the main brains and the MFC ( Main Fuel Control) as a back up. Not correcting, simply trying to add to it.

Thank you

What else would they use? There's nothing like them out there.

Never forget that World War III was not Cold for most of us.

Practically Worthless. :D

For the record we never had an engine blowout like this and our pilots are unafraid to move the throttle around. :)

Having said that the GE is a better engine overall, GE has better thrust and acceleration but PW almost always wins export contracts. I never had the chance to learn why first hand because we never had GE engines for comparison.

Word is PW has more alternate sources for spares making it cheaper and friendlier on the delivery dates but that I will have to leave for someone who knows both to comment.

Pilotasso,

I hope you don't feel I was trying to negate what you were saying, not my intention. I come to the forums to share ideas, opinions and experiences and I apologize if I made you ( or anyone else for that matter) feel like a was patronizing, not my intention.

Remember guys, I'm just a dumb crew chief, should not take what I say to seriously.

You should not be ashamed for expressing your opinion. Some people are not civil about accepting other opinions and that should not constraint what you write. its all good cheers.
