Regarding the last video.... Noob question: Was that a CBU or the Cannon????

Actually been asking myself the same question. Looked more like a CBU to me.

that was the gun, you can see in the second shot (If you were paying attention to the dot on the TGP), that the first a-10 was just flying cirlces around the target, keeping an eye on them, while the second A-10 went in for a gun run, the dot shows he rolled in, strafed their asses and rolled out) It's awesome how much detail you can pick up from this after playing DCS A-10C

Are you sure about that? In real HUD tapes there appears a little square in the upper left corner whenever the gun is being fired, and I don´t see it in this video.

To whom it may concern,

I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that.

Thank you for you patience.

Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..

Yes, I did notice the dot, and it does look like the aircraft is performing a gun run, according to the TGP. Doesn't prove that it was one, though.

The weapon impact seemed to start at the far end of the target and then get closer to the observing (and possibly firing) aircraft. That would be rather untypical for an A-10 gun run. Actually, it looked as if multiple salvos hit within one second. I still think it looks like a CBU.

This video isnt HUD footage though, its from the TGP

Ralfis right, the SA cue in the second part of the vid gives away the profile of the aircraft on the delivery.

Hell of a lot cheaper to use a few hundred rounds of 30mm than a CBU. Not to mention the nasty after affects of CBUs that dont go down well with PR.

I reckon you can even see the aircraft shaking slightly at 0:48 from the gun.

Well I guess the only conclusion we can draw is that the A-10's cannon is so powerful it looks like a cluster bomb.:D
