Got the magazine but something else already caught my eye on it. It mentions my work on page 22 left corner! :shocking:

We repaired the aircraft S/N 114, 115 and 118 mentioned on the following page. :smoke:

OK so I read the Mig-29 Versus F-16 article. As expected, no reveleations. Article debates tricks and hints on how to use the falcons better turn rate versus the fulcrums smaller turn radiuses, also fuel economy of the F-16 to get the better of the fulcrum. It also mentions the intake designs and the conditions both planes can operate in.

To whom it may concern,

I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that.

Thank you for you patience.

Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..

I saw it flying on the Hahnweise 2009 :smilewink:

I guess you haven't seen this here then:

Beautiful. I wish it had a rocket engine like the original, well much safer one ;)

It's gliding capabilities are really amazing for it's stubby appearance. It's a rare opportunity to witness such aircraft, designed to glide back home once it's outta fuel!

Russians want some of those as well. In addition to german U-212 submarines.

You guys remenber Russians saying they would get 5 carriers till 2015? this is "it".

?? BPC aren't much expensive compared to carriers . and seems but to be taken at the conditional , seems that carriers could not be such important in the future as they did during the last 70 years . planes job can be done by drones / sea launched missiles . 400 millions euros for a BPC against 3.5 billions for a PA2 . the main barrier for the russian i think may be to admit somewhere that if they buy it to a foreign it's that they can't do it themselves . but the A400 problems and the high price of the C-17 , it's not impossible that the french buy (or rent) russian planes .

No it isn't Pilotasso :) .

They said the plan was to start building 6 new aircraft carriers in the 50.000 ton class by 2012 - the first of which expected to enter service around 2020.

The French BPC design is not an aircraft carrier - it is an assault ship similar in concept to the the US "Tawara" and "Wasp" classes.

the main barrier for the russian i think may be to admit somewhere that if they buy it to a foreign it's that they can't do it themselves .

The "main barrier" would be that Russia has pretty strict laws preventing its armed forces from acquiring foreign made equipment - even Russian made equipment containing foreign components.

However, as mentioned above the BPC is a landing ship and if Russia is interested in acquiring this design, it would most probably be in order to replace its current fleet of such ships, which consists of a single operational "Ivan Rogov" class(# 020 "Mitrofan Moskalenko") and several "Repoucha" class vessels.

The Repoucha class was not a domestically built design(constructed in Poland), so I guess it is possible that a replacement for it could be acquired from a foreign manufacturer as well.

Guys, let`s not forget this is just talk about possible purchase of Mistral class vessels from Russia. Some info is floating around about russians exploring other potential offers for similar ships from Spain and Netherlands. There is no real deal yet, at least there isn`t one officially confirmed.
