Harlikwin Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 How will LGB's work starting online from a cold/dark empty plane on day1? I.e. where do you set the LGB code? Will this be a server setting that bombs will default to? New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog. Repth Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 Typically the code for the LGB's are set in the mission editor by the creator. The default code for all aircraft is normally 1688 (unless something has changed recently). Hopefully the mission designers will create unique codes for all aircraft, but I wouldn't expect that day one.
EvanWeeks Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 I think I saw somewhere that they're just matching the bomb's code to whatever your designator is set to right now. Evan "Preacher" Weeks - Dad. Programmer. Virtual Fighter Pilot. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Repth Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 I hope you are right. According to Wags we won't have that capability in the cockpit of the aircraft. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4048457&postcount=12 Item 3.
BavarianPilot Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 Why they don't do it like the other guys? Set LGB Laser code in kneeboard. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] http://www.spare-time-pilots.de Twitch BavarianPilot Youtube BavarianPilot
Revelation Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 Why they don't do it like the other guys? Set LGB Laser code in kneeboard. Wags hinted at that in a post on the forums or FB, can't remember which; we just have to wait to see what they implement. Buschwick Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 (edited) Edit: nevermind I didn't read this thread thoroughly :D Not being able the change the bombs' code in flight is a real thing though...not gonna change. Don't think Wags was pointing out a WIP on that one...just stating how it works. Maybe the rearm menu will have the ability to set the bombs' codes. Harlikwin Posted October 2, 2019 Author Posted October 2, 2019 I know how it works IRL and how it works in current ED modules "because reasons". I just want to know how its gonna work in the viper on day1 online. Down the road I hope they lock down all the LGB's in modules and make it an option in the rearm/refuel screen for online use since thats what I think would work best. That or totally revamp how online re-arm re-fuel works. New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog. Harlikwin Posted October 2, 2019 Author Posted October 2, 2019 I actually really like this idea.. put it in the rearm/refuel ui. I mean its what I would do if I were doing it. But thats with the existing system. But honestly I think we need a whole better online UI for mission planning. I like the plane card thing that wags teased, but what I want to be able to do online is something like this: 1. Goto F10 map that is specific to me an my plane, with whatever global overlay from a "everyone can see map" (i.e. other friendly units etc, however the server has it setup). And this could be a current awacs picture or something that wouldn't be visible once you are in the air. Maybe with strike targets pre-marked based on "intel". 2. Plot my own waypoints, LGB codes, etc on that map where it doesn't disturb everyone else. And load that info for my flight. 3. Be able to share my info with any other player(s) that I choose, so they can rapidly download the same info to their planes. New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog.
