bell_rj Posted October 9, 2019 Posted October 9, 2019 totally different story Nope, it's the same 'story' as you put it. I can use it as I wish in the same game right now. Doesn't matter why it's there either. What matters is that it helps to make the game more accessible and therefore enjoyable. That's a good thing. PC specs:
Eldur Posted October 9, 2019 Posted October 9, 2019 (edited) Throttle handle lifts up as it passes the detent Still no AB then. As it does so, the FF goes up a noticable bit, but no cans lit yet. Advance it further forward and another noticable increase in FF comes along with the lights. But that's a good reference to go for. Doing the same in the Hornet, MIL is just when the rear side of the levers sits where MIL is written in between. But now in the Viper, I started to use another trick with the TMWH. Push the throttle, mapped to the right one in my case, but both levers to the detent position and then just use the right one. The left one stays there for reference. Can also be done for AAR or landings. I'll feature request some sort of aural feedback. If that gets accepted in any way, go for the Hornet as well please to have such features all across the board. I will dip my toe in for the Viper right now and test the waters, I am all for audio cues and such for things you might normally feel, so we will see what we can do. Would be better if we could feel that though - with FFB throttles. But sadly, there is no voice except for mine in the community for that. It doesn't exist yet, but someone with the possibilities clearly should pick up the idea. Same for rudder pedals. Edited October 9, 2019 by Eldur
doedkoett Posted October 10, 2019 Posted October 10, 2019 I think it was determined to not be realistic and thus not implemented when this was brought up for the Hornet. While I agree that it wouldn't be realistic, it is very useful in a simulation environment. There are a lot of things that we don't feel or sense while flying at a desktop PC and having options to compensate for this is always a plus. How does the detents on the Viper and Hornet work? I´ve never tried any of their cockpits, but the Gripen, and the Viggen throttles responds with a loud "chunk" when forced in to after burner.
