Hello,

just a minor glitch, the inlet section seems to have bad lighting.

Shouldn't they be more dark?

Using Open Beta 2.5.5.37626

I noticed earlier with the Hornet, that such things depend on how high your shadow settings are. What are yours at?

It might be something else as well, but I think the shadow settings is a good place to start.

The only issue i have seen with setting set to max is that when the camera is further away from teh jet, say in fly-by view, there is no shadow visible until it gets a bit closer so you see a small white box under the jet and then it renders in. Whether this is a viper issue or a shadows issue remains to be seen.

Thanks for the tip, indeed it works great with high settings!

I might set this as default shadow setting in the future, if it doesn't brake frames in VR :D

A question to you Harker:

What settings did you use for this foto (not the camera, DCS is mean)?

It looks far more real, the lighting is very nice!

I just have most graphics options maxed out, if that matters. In the photo's case, I think it's mostly the shadows quality that does.

Could also be circumstantial. This was taken on Bandar Abbas airport, 14:00, summertime. Maybe the sun's position added to the effect. Plus, I took it with my phone, so some "gamey detail" is probably not visible.

Btw, I just watched a video on YouTube

and look at the intake. I'd say that in this picture, it's closer to your picture than mine, which makes me think it's circumstantial. I think the off-white interior of the intake reflects a lot of ambient light. 56b7c1c69587aa12218711b909b6a965.jpg

Thanks for the very interesting youtube link!

I love the circumstance of having over 100 years of aeronautic science and still having aircraft falling out of the skies because of aerodynamics. :smartass:

If people on this planet have believes, ... they should believe in aerodynamic laws. Nothing more. :smartass::smartass:

Sorry, just my personal opinion.
