Few things that would make my life with F-14 easier :-)

(Pilot seat, flying with Jester)

* keybindings for STEER CMD NEXT and PREV (like there is for HUD Mode, for example)

* TCS FOV switch Jester action

* Let Jester Menu actions stay where they are; currently, they move one spot further in the primary menu because of the "Spot" action (anyone really using it in missions???) -- So, in the same menu, say BVR, you click on a different spot if it is a primary menu and when you access it from the secondary one.

* Jester's improved threat recognition and faster response in a dogfight -- no, there is no need to shout "Missile!" when a friendly F-18 fires a Maverick or a Tomahawk passes 40 NM by....

* Jester not switching the radar, when I shoot AIM-7... she really needs it, you know...

* Jester able to use LANTIRN -- but I guess that is planned

And, please, please, improve your quality assurance procedures... there are catchable bugs (like autothrottle -> CTD, missing/wrong textures, etc.) in almost every release (OpenBeta).

* Ability to disable jester calling out friendlies.

* Make jester able to automatically point the radar at a datalinked target that is at a different altitude for a TWS shot.

Bugs like Autothrottle aren't always able to be caught prior to shipping because of build differentiation. In the same respect are the drag changes taking place to stores. Testing isn't done on what's coming from ED, but rather what's already released to the rest of the community. Ultimately, third parties have to submit for the upcoming update well before ED performs their own internal cut. Thus, when something changes on the DCS release side that breaks something for HB (or any other third party), they have no idea it exists until the reports come in.

Well, if that that is true (I really see no point in comments from anyone but HB or ED, here), it needs to be changed. Or at least improved a bit. In the end, NONE of the developers does want their product to be spoiled by unnecessary bugs.

And there is always some option in software development. If you are willing to do it. Saying, it is difficult, so the bugs are ok, is simply stupid.

Again, what HB (or ED) has to say about it is kinda the only relevant thing around...

Thank you for your input. We'll take your points on board. As for the catchable bugs, unfortunately it is not as straight forward, as one might think. Several bugs only get experienced by some, others do not appear in our internal build and only become obvious, once in open beta. Hence "beta". While in DCS it is treated as the official version, please remember, that it is still the public test version of DCS. It is a crucial process, since even with a large test team, catching all bugs prior to the update is impossible. We try, but we will not always succeed. I hope we do show however that we are usually quick in fixing them when they occur. As for why they occur: DCS is and remains a shifting ground, which keeps evolving. How one change might affect any of its thousands of aspects, is very hard to foresee. Our apologies for that, but hence input like yours and of the many passionate members in the community is greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

Duly noted. As one of the multitude who has spent countless hours over the last year assisting in HBs QA process outside of public release builds, you'll have to accept my apologies for apparently speaking out of turn on a topic issued within an open forum in an attempt to illuminate the circumstances under which we provide our time.

If Jester could announce an IMU failure or other issues that may happen in the back cockpit. Had a full IMU failure the other day did not notice it for a while and he had already swapped to a backup mode.
