Any chance DCS will ever see the Bravo model? Are there others who would like to see it come to DCS WW2? I have always like the way the canopy was on the B. Yes less visibility, but still looked good.

If I remember correctly, the P-51B or C was planned first instead of the D. At least there were some 3d models of it in the game files, but maybe someome knows more about that or i'm just simply wrong.

Servus! :smilewink:

I think B use the same engine it should fly similar, only a little bit faster then D.

This would definitely be a sweet version to implement into DCS. Especially since it appears maps are moving towards time specific aircraft models. This is a good move I think on ED’s behalf. It opens the door not only for more WW2 aircraft modules, but other AI (hopefully playable tank modules some day cough cough) assets. After Wags last DCS WW2 interview, I am very optimistic about the future! I hope the B finds its way to our virtual skies.

Would love to have B model but not as a full price module.

Not a lot of difference to D but there are some little things :p

I hope to see it one day :D

B/C Versions had a different version of the Packard Merlin, the -3, akin to the 63 Series RR Merlin where the D had the -7 more akin to the RR Merlin 66.

The cockpit was different, would require a complete re-model.

The gear mechanism was modified in the D, resulting in the small LEX which the B/C does not have.

More work than you think.

I'd pay full whack (or EA discount at least) but then that's just me.

Oh no no. -7 was definetly in B/C

-3 is with difrent gear ration of supercharger for high alt operations.

-7 is more like merlin 66 and -3 is more like merlin 70

Yup, that's what I said. The majority of P-51B/C had -3 Merlin, with only the later blocks and the D variants getting the -7 motor.

P-51B-5 had -7 engine -5 is later block ?? then yes

Any way i would love to see -9 engine in dcs someday :)
