grant977 Posted November 13, 2019 Posted November 13, 2019 Notice do last night that the radar altimeter is no longer picking up the boat. Indicates 80 plus feet when sitting in the middle of the deck.
BonerCat Posted November 14, 2019 Posted November 14, 2019 There is a subthread on here specificly for bugs on the Tomcat. I reccomend you post it there. https://forums.eagle.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=628 Modules: F-14, F-15C, F-16C, F/A-18C, M-2000C, A-10C, A-10C II, AV-8B N/A, MiG-29, Su-33, MiG-21 Bis, F-5E, P-51D, Ka-50, Mi-8, Sa 342, UH-1H, Combined Arms Maps and others: Persian Gulf, Syria, Normandy, WWII Assets, NS 430 + Mi-8 NS 430
Nealius Posted November 14, 2019 Posted November 14, 2019 I don't think this is Tomcat-specific. On certain locations on the deck the Hornet's radar altimeter will read 70, then suddenly read 0 as you start taxiing.
BonerCat Posted November 14, 2019 Posted November 14, 2019 Really? I havent noticed that. It might be an ED bug then. Modules: F-14, F-15C, F-16C, F/A-18C, M-2000C, A-10C, A-10C II, AV-8B N/A, MiG-29, Su-33, MiG-21 Bis, F-5E, P-51D, Ka-50, Mi-8, Sa 342, UH-1H, Combined Arms Maps and others: Persian Gulf, Syria, Normandy, WWII Assets, NS 430 + Mi-8 NS 430
Nealius Posted November 15, 2019 Posted November 15, 2019 Happens to me any time I start on an elevator, regardless of jet. Radar ALT reads 70 on the elevator, then once I taxi it will go to 0 and set off the warning.
BonerCat Posted November 15, 2019 Posted November 15, 2019 In that case, it's not a bug. Remember your tail sticks out from the deck on elevator starts, and the tail is where your radar altimiter is located (it's closest to ground on landing, besides landing gear) Modules: F-14, F-15C, F-16C, F/A-18C, M-2000C, A-10C, A-10C II, AV-8B N/A, MiG-29, Su-33, MiG-21 Bis, F-5E, P-51D, Ka-50, Mi-8, Sa 342, UH-1H, Combined Arms Maps and others: Persian Gulf, Syria, Normandy, WWII Assets, NS 430 + Mi-8 NS 430
sLYFa Posted November 15, 2019 Posted November 15, 2019 the tail is where your radar altimiter is located (it's closest to ground on landing, besides landing gear) The radar alt antenna is actually in the nose. i5-8600k @4.9Ghz, 2080ti , 32GB@2666Mhz, 512GB SSD
BonerCat Posted November 15, 2019 Posted November 15, 2019 Oh shit. You're right. It is on the nose. Must've mistook it with the hornet. My bad.
