The news about NAVGRID got me looking at the datalink drum on the CAP, and in particular the buttons used to submit information to the network (e.g. WILCO/CANTCO and POINT/ENGAGE). Are these buttons functional in multiplayer, and do they work with link 4A and 4C? Also, are these commands passed to Export so they could theoretically be used by something like LotATC?

Being able to sort targets using link would be awesome.

I too am curious. That would be amazing if so, though I think I remember something about those buttons not being fully implemented a while ago? Could have changed since though. I'm a stick operating meat puppet up front so I:m ignorant of such things. Haha

Unfortunately a lot of the datalink functions, including those are nonfunctional as they're intended for use with a controller on a ship or an awacs like an E-2C.

Thanks for the quick response Naquaii. Will these be functional when the Super carrier module goes live, or when the HB Forestall is released?

Thanks for the prompt reply, Naquaii.

Next question: are there plans to make these buttons export-functional at the very least? This would allow third parties to potentially fill the gap.

^^ this would be most helpful!

When he means air control, he’s talking tactical control from an AIC in CIC, vice an AC in CATCC provide air traffic control, so those functions won’t be useful with the upcoming ED carrier module
