Bob Morton Posted November 29, 2019 Posted November 29, 2019 Hello - so I finally braved the first mission in the campaign. Success, but not due to my skill probably mostly luck. One thing that was tough was the AWACS and friendlies screaming a bunch of jibberish at he over the radio half of which I did not understand. Is there a manual or guide to understanding comms language? Thank you! QuiGon Posted November 29, 2019 Posted November 29, 2019 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiservice_tactical_brevity_code Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
SacredRaziel Posted November 29, 2019 Posted November 29, 2019 For understanding the brevity vocabulary is more than enough. On public servers it's mostly limited to braa, fox 1-3, rifle, magnum, Winchester, visual, tally and Judy... For sp I would suggest pausing and checking the wiki page as well so you know what's what. If you want to be proficient you might want to find someone who can teach you the application of the basics in the posts above or a squadron that is doing proper brevity... For me it was somewhat learning by doing though I am far from being good at it. Edit: in the post above by quigon. The other one is somewhat useless
IronMike Posted November 30, 2019 Posted November 30, 2019 You can start out with this list, it is more than sufficient for DCS, anything outside of these brevity calls you most likely will never need or use. http://www.mediafire.com/file/gis87wq922gnqax/104th_Brevity_Codes.pdf/file Heatblur Simulations Please feel free to contact me anytime, either via PM here, on the forums, or via email through the contact form on our homepage. http://www.heatblur.com/ https://www.facebook.com/heatblur/
