I had a voice actor come over to my studio to record some Voice Annunciations to use in leu of EN1, EN2, etc, but I don't know how to enable them in the JF-17. How do I?

I would maybe create a folder called "EN3" and put the sound files in it and place the folder along this file path in the image.

I already tried that:

EN3 does not show up in game.

That folder gets cleaned upon updates or repairs.

7c315916-d552-482d-8213-466eea492807Is there anything else we need to do to have custom voices ? I recorded wav files and named them like the original ones, and they're placed into a CE folder next to the others and I still can't hear them.

What am I missing ?

Done that, still don't hear it.

Is there a specific format it needs, are my titles wrong ?

I've tried with an instant action too, triggering the warning message by switching FCS modes, can't hear anything with my file, works with the default ones.

I figured it out :

1 : Record your custom files in wav format and name them like the stock ones.

2 : Place them in a "CE" folder next to the other voice pack folders (DCS\Mods\aircraft\JF-17\Sounds\Effects)

3 : Go into DCS\Mods\aircraft\JF-17\Sounds\sdef\Cockpit

4 : Copy the sdef files from the "EN1" folder into the normally empty "CE" folder.

5 : Open all the sdef files (with notepad++ or similar) and change the

"wave = "/Effects/EN1/[FileName]"

to "wave = "/Effects/CE/[FileName]"

6 : Select "CUSTOMIZED" as the voice pack in the special options.

7 : Enjoy

Custom Voice dir name should be 'CE', in the same dir of CN1/CN2/EN1/EN2

I'm having the same problem. I cannot hear anything I put in the CE folder in the directory. Replacing the sound files EN1 does work, just to test.

EDIT: Just saw post above. Giving it a shot.

Yep, worked for me! Thanks! It would be awesome if the README.txt was in the other file location too instead of just C:\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\JF-17\Sounds\sdef\Cockpit\CE. And/Or a mention in the guide would be a nice addition too. Thanks everyone!

Just curious. how will your sounds be different from EN1 and 2?

I know someone that does some pretty awesome voice acting for stuff. I thought this might be a good time to have 'em in one of my projects, try my hand at new things, learn, etc.
