I seem to be having issues with wingmen and wingmen of other AI flights rubber banding during offline single player play.

Is anyone else experiencing this, it is very off putting

Hi, It's hard to pin down as happens sporadically.

It's not so much rubber banding as the AI flying at strange angles to maintain formation.

I.e. They are on a bearing of say 000 and will bank 45 degrees left and then mysteriously fly bottom first at a bearing of 090. As if being dragged about the sky but not in a regular back and forth "rubber banding" way which you might encounter online.

Experienced on both PG and NV map in F14 and Mig 21 both at high and low altitudes.

If i ever manage to capture some footage of it happening i will post here.

Unless flying in close formation or using F2 to view wingman you would never notice it.

I only fly offline and the AI is and was something very lacking for decades. I am amazed what the programmers can do and it is WAY better but still frustrating.

A typical dogfight lets say using ww2 planes usually goes like this.

I set the ai to the easy setting and 100% fuel. My wingmen are set at the highest level.

Just last night a AI 109 defeated THREE AI P-51s at the highest level.

Meanwhile I was shooting marshmallows at him until my wrist hurt. The AI 109 which was immune to stalls, blackouts and must have installed a rocket engine, makes a quick head on pass and not only took my wing off but head shotted me!

Like I said I am amazed at what can be done but wish there was a way to tinker with the settings. I wonder what the AI skill level even does?

Attached image shows contrails of offline SP "rubber banding". If flying in formation on a gentle turn then no problem but the minute i disengage AP and tighten the turn, mayhem.

Not always an issue but definitely something going on occasionally. The planes do not fly they just slide around the sky trying to get back in place in formation.

This was during new MBot DCE mission but have experienced it in various aircraft and in various missions/ME/IA flights.

Hi

I would need to see a track replay and your dcs log when it happens, it should show us some clues, otherwise we would just be guessing.

thanks
