fitness88 Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 DCS is the only VR game I've experienced. Compared to other games where does DCS rank on system resource demand using VR? Thank you.
Svsmokey Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 Consider that most VR games have cartoon-like graphics , and those that do better have very limited view distances . Consider the flight and system modeling in DCS being unrivalled . I think you can now answer your own question :) 9700k @ stock , Aorus Pro Z390 wifi , 32gb 3200 mhz CL16 , 1tb EVO 970 , MSI RX 6800XT Gaming X TRIO , Seasonic Prime 850w Gold , Coolermaster H500m , Noctua NH-D15S , CH Pro throttle and T50CM2/WarBrD base on Foxxmounts , CH pedals , Reverb G2v2

I think you can now answer your own question :) Couldn't say it better than you:thumbup: Basically, from what you're saying; if you can run DCS in VR nicely then you would be hard pressed to find a VR game that you couldn't run well. Thanks for your reply.
Wicked.- Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 If you can run DCS well enough in VR to enjoy it, all other games will have no issues. fitness88 Posted December 19, 2019 Author Posted December 19, 2019 When I want to show off VR to my friends I use IL2 BoK. Id much prefer if I could use DCS to show off. Wouldn't DCS like that better too? VR in DCS brings my 8700k@4.4ghz, RTX2080, 32gbddr43k, EIDE HDs to its knees on mostly low settings at PD of 1.2. Not ideal. I don't get that. I have 7700k@4.4 GTS1080 32 ram, I run medium and have no problems, no lock up or stutter in single play and minimal in MP [usually only around airfields]. I should add I use Oculus Rift.

Not ideal.Yes, your system spec is good enough to run vr very well and get good play from it. I play on a i5 7600k @ 3.8mhz , gtx 1060 6g without overclocking cpu or gpu , 16g ram and SSD, Samsung odyssey plus headset and the experience has been very smooth on mostly single player missions. Plays heavy missions like red flag missions with high graphic settings but msaa and shadows turned off, system can holds 35 fps on airfield and 40fps high up. An upgrade in the gpu department is planned for me though.
