hardly Posted December 26, 2019 Posted December 26, 2019 Title says it all. I wanted to update DCS before New Year's but not actually play it so I ran the launcher, updated, and it loaded to the DCS Login screen: Log In - Logs in and runs the game, no problem. Cancel - Does NOT log in and runs the game, no problem. The problem is that there is no QUIT button. Pressing cancel logged me into the game, which I quit, then for some reason the DCS Login screen popped back up every time. I eventually had to ctrl-alt-delete and kill the launcher 3-4 times.
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted December 26, 2019 ED Team Posted December 26, 2019 Hi what anti virus are you using? I have known real time scans to do strange things to DCS. Forum rules - DCS Crashing? hardly Posted December 30, 2019 Author Posted December 30, 2019 I figured out the problem. I was clicking the "log out" button at the top of the screen instead of the "exit" text in the bottom right. Still, there is no way to quit the log in screen without starting the game...
Tom Kazansky Posted December 30, 2019 Posted December 30, 2019 (edited) I asked myself before the same thing. Wouldn't it be good to have a "cancel"-button on the standard login window that lets you quit the DCS-starting-window without starting DCS? just for the case you change your mind and don't want to start DCS for any reason. So I support the OP. When I just want to check for updates I use a "selfmade" link on my desktop with the target file: "D:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\DCS_updater.exe" update This checks for update, returns a message or starts an update and does not start DCS.
