TheCabal Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 (edited) Hello, my old rudder seems to be completely jerking into a specific direction if I do some light inputs, max positions are ok and smooth. If I go a bit left, it jerks far to the right for a second and then goes left. Isn't there something where I can create parameters so that I can set certain controller min.-max. limits at different x/y positions of the rudder of some sort to prevent such axis break-outs or even cut the real-time sensors at half... sensing every 2 instead of 1 inputs in real time? I don't know how to put that thing apart and repair it.. or if it's even possible.... can't find any information except for the newer TM rudders. Also have problems with centerplay at the stick but this is too much for my brain to bear at the moment.... don't know what to fill those used center-play areas with.... the rudder is a bigger problem at the moment. Maybe you folks know something... RustBelt Posted December 30, 2019 Posted December 30, 2019 Your Potentiometer is failing. Or it's filthy as heck. But at that age, yea probably time for a new one, or a Hall retrofit.
TheCabal Posted January 27, 2020 Author Posted January 27, 2020 What are the recent options for the Cougar and the RCS? =( Fixing my Rudder RCS and getting rid of the center play reg. my Stick? I saw some 3D printed parts for the Cougar but they are too expensive... Sokol1_br Posted January 27, 2020 Posted January 27, 2020 (edited) Contacless sensor for replace potentiometer, see Rel4y topics in Thrustmaster sub-forum there. Debolestis 3D printed gimbal for Cougar is the more affordable option available for improve their weak original gimbal, with lot of play. Edited January 27, 2020 by Sokol1_br
BlacleyCole Posted January 27, 2020 Posted January 27, 2020 Two things come to mind cleaning the potentiometer for a short term fix and replacing it for a long term fix using a hall sensor or even trying Rel4y’s magnetic sensor if it Will pop in to place. He puts the magnet where the shaft of the potentiometer went the mounts the sensor part where the base of the potentiometer was. I used them in both my Thrustmaster Cougar throttle and stick. If the vkb rudder pedals start acting up I’ll see if his setup will work I hope it does. BlackeyCole 20years usaf XP-11.
