BlacleyCole Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 After weeks of trying to get screws from Thrustmaster and finally being informed that they do not have any replacement screws available for the tpr pedals I need to know the size of the screw that mount the little hat shaped piece on pg 16 iirc to the underside of the pedal. Iirc it has to do with the toe brake. I asked tm but haven’t heard anything after being told to go to the hardware store which I did once but never saw anything that small. I live in a small town so I thought if I could get the size I would order several. BlackeyCole 20years usaf XP-11. imacken Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 Are you seriosuly saying that TM will not supply you with a screw for a £450 item? That is seriously worrying! I have always found TM support to be excellent in the past. VpR81 Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 (edited) The screws are fine threaded M3x20mm. You should be able to order them online if your local hardware store does not have them in stock. Are you seriosuly saying that TM will not supply you with a screw for a £450 item? Is unnecessary anyways, since you can get a 100pcs box of these screws for like 4€ while TM would propably take 10€ from you for a set of 4. Besides the prices, i experienced the TM support to be excellent everytime i had to contact them. True, but that's not really the point. The OP said they wouldn't supply him! VpR81 Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 I noticed that. I wonder about this too, since i had to contact TM support a few times and they were always helpful and relatively fast. That TM does not have a load of these replacement screws in stock is close to an outrage. It realy suprises/shocks me as well, as i own the TPRs too and expect full support for them. No doubt, TM is failing here. But in case of just a 4 cent screw wich is not covered by warranty if lost and wich is easy to get, i´d rather get one by myself instead of waiting for any support, TM or whoever. Virpil sent me wrong screws with my WarBRD base so i couldn´t attach it to the included as well as the universal baseplate. They were simply too long. I did not even think about contacting them because of four tiny screws i´d have to wait about 2 weeks for (even while this would be covered by warranty), went to the hardware store and purchased a 100pcs box (just in case) for 3.99€ of screws that perfectly fit. What i´m trying to say is, that my priority would be to make sure the OP is able to use the TPRs and get back on the stick ASAP and none of us can make TM supply him although i´m aware of you are right that this is worrying. Therefore telling him screw measures and hints where to get those screws is the only reasonable attempt to help him, as he asked exactly for that. VpR81 Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 Let´s just hope these screws are the only TPR replacement parts TM does generally not have in stock. I don´t want to imagine i need new cables or sensors one day and get the same answer the OP got from TM.. This is realy remarkable, TM still offers replacement parts for the cougar but not some simple screws for their primary pedal system. Could no one at TM imagine, that it might be possible ppl could loose some of these screws? Unbelievable... Blacley, let us know if you can get some of these screws as it might be helpful for other ppl running against the same wall. RustBelt Posted January 3, 2020 Posted January 3, 2020 My guess, based on the fact that they came as a box in a box, that Thrustmaster is getting these things fully built and packaged in China, so they don't have any parts so to speak. Especially not basic hardware since once these go to production they probably never touch them again.

They have to be able to repair items, and over the years, any time I have needed small replacement parts, they have been more than willing to send them out to me. Totally agree with Imacken, beeing able to supply your customers with replacement parts is a basic rule for producing industry (where TM belongs to). Also TM is in general able to do so for other parts/products they produce in china as well. Therefore it makes absolutely no sense not to have these simple screws in stock for customer supply. TM has most propably a central storage warehouse for each national/continental market, like every worldwide operating company has. Imagine Mercedes Benz in the US would not be able to supply local customers with simple bumpers for a 100.000€ car, just because the specific model is produced in europe and they're not willing to send in some bumpers from overseas? And then advise the customer, that he should try to get some from ebay while they didn't tell him the supply part number... Epic fail. @ BlacleyCole Nevermind mate, you sounded pretty desperate so i'm glad i could help you out.
