Belphe Posted January 8, 2020 Posted January 8, 2020 (edited) I'm not sure if it's a problem with the F-14 or DCS in general but the last couple of days I've been flying I noticed a sort of a "view deformation" in the middle of the glass cockpit, just above the Tomcat's metal cockpit frame. It runs along above the pilot's head, nearly all the way to the metal strip connected to the frame support in between the pilot and RIO seats. Its not an object (artifact) but rather an image distortion, like a light refraction. Its only visible for a few seconds and usually when flying towards the ground. Pitching up into the sky makes it disappear.. I know it sounds like trolling but its not - I'll try to grab a screenshot tonight. Edited January 8, 2020 by Belphe Never say never, Baby! Belphe Posted January 9, 2020 Author Posted January 9, 2020 motion blur option? Please, elaborate.. Never say never, Baby! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
draconus Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 (edited) On the main DCS graphic options there is motion blur option. Do you have it checked? If yes, try without it. Any mods installed you have? Reshade or sth? Any driver set post-processing on? On the top glass you have what look like motion lines - never seen that before. Tiger-II Posted January 11, 2020 Posted January 11, 2020 It's a graphic engine bug. You'll note it is precisely in the middle of the screen. Try reducing pre-rendered frames in your driver setting. Nealius Posted January 13, 2020 Posted January 13, 2020 I get the same artifact when flying through rain in VR, but haven't noticed it in any other situations.
draconus Posted January 13, 2020 Posted January 13, 2020 If it's rain then it's WIP. Didn't look like raining in the OP's images :) Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
Deano87 Posted January 13, 2020 Posted January 13, 2020 I have the same issue with the F-14 canopy. Particularly bad in rain but it can be noticed all the time if you look carefully enough. Its not motion blur or a graphics engine bug due to frame rate. It moves around as I moves my head and is to do with the material that the F-14 canopy is made from.
