Harlikwin Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 What does this actually mean? New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, HP Reverb (formermly CV1) Old-N-busted: i7 4720HQ ~3.5GHZ, +32GB DDR3 + Nvidia GTX980m (4GB VRAM) :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, Rift CV1 (yes really).
TopCat Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 It's from today's change log. Not sure what it means either. Maybe additional tweaks outside of ED's hardcoded missile code / data?
Harlikwin Posted January 15, 2020 Author Posted January 15, 2020 Yeah its listed in the log, I presume it relates to SD10/LD10 behavior? Possibly reducing range? TOF=Time of flight? TOA=??? Harker Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 I haven't checked, but it makes me think that they tied the displayed TOF, TOA (time of arrival??) and DLZ calculations that are shown in the radar page etc to the missile's data, rather than have them hard-coded in the module. It's easy to test if someone is willing to give it a go. AFAIK, the F-18 and F-16 have them hard-coded in the module, so even if you change e.g. the AMRAAM's burn time and drag curve in missiles_data.lua, the DLZ and SHOOT cues will not change. Technically closer to how it is IRL, but less convenient for DCS, since adjustments to missile parameters require adjustments to the module. Would be nice if a dev clarified this though. Harlikwin Posted January 16, 2020 Author Posted January 16, 2020 @uboats Any official explanation of what this is? New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog. Oceandar Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 I could be wrong so feel free to correct me. TOF = time of flight TOA = time of active Mastering others is strength. Mastering yourself is true power. - Lao Tze
