steelrfan85 Posted January 20, 2020 Posted January 20, 2020 For some reason I try and line up my line with piper to the long bomb fall line and the long line keeps drifting so I have to chase it causing the bomb to not drop. I tried with GBU and mk bombs. Any ideas? I even went on autopilot. I tried once and every time I’d turn in to get line it up the line with piper was always several degrees off to the side. The target was set as my SPI with my TGP so I’m just frustrated. I was trying the weapons training under Nellis. I even lined up for a gun run and it never hit anything. Only way I was able to destroy was with my Mavericks.

Yurgon Posted January 20, 2020 Posted January 20, 2020 I suggest you post a track or a video; track preferred. There's about a million things that could all have an impact, and I don't know about you, but I'd rather look at a 10 minute track and be able to tell, to a certain degree of confidence, what seems to be the issue, rather than posting questions, suggestions and answers back and forth for weeks to come.
Yurgon Posted January 20, 2020 Posted January 20, 2020 How do I do a track? When you fly a Mission or an Instant Action mission, in the Debriefing Screen there's a button "Save track". That's the track we're interested in. It should be a file ending in .trk (Note: When you fly a training mission from the main menu button "Training", there's no debriefing and no option to save a track. But as long as you select a mission from Mission or Instant Action or Campaign or the Mission Editor, there's always a debriefing window.) You can upload it here to the forum, or if it's too big any file hoster will do (Google Drive, Dropbox, Mega, whatever). A track is a recording of the mission and all the inputs that took place. We can replay tracks in DCS and virtually look over your shoulder, or we can take control and check all kinds of stuff. That's why tracks are really well suited for all kinds of debugging purposes in DCS.
veenee Posted January 21, 2020 Posted January 21, 2020 I had similar problem in that mission, but I think wind is to blame there. So many modules, so little time... www.mikphotography.com
Frederf Posted January 21, 2020 Posted January 21, 2020 There used to be a bug where the bomb aiming alignment would not be constant when crosswind was present. The long-distance alignment would be fine until about 6 seconds to go at which time the real solution would blend in and you'd have to hustle to realign. I'm guessing that behavior is still present to some degree.
