DCS Locks up while loading mission / mission editor

Hi. As above, game freezes during map loading mission editor, every map.

 

 

have run repair, cleaned shaders, deleted settings.lua, reinstalled game, no dice.

 

 

is there a nuclear option here that I haven't tried? getting a bit frustrated, honestly.

GTX 1080

 

I7 at ~4.0 ghz

40gb RAM

game running on m.2 SSD ~256 gb

air cooled (temps fine)

 

 

game worked fine for last 5-7 years~ problem appeared very recently with no significant trumpet call heralding it's presence. All other games continue to work. :helpsmilie:

I'd try the following:

 

Rename the folder C:\Users\Cik\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta

to something like C:\Users\Cik\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta.bak

 

Then start DCS, it will detect that there is no DCS.openbeta folder and then it will create a new one with default values. Once DCS shows its main menu, exit DCS.

 

Now, copy the Config folder from DCS.openbeta.bak onto the new DCS.openbeta (to recover your basic config and controls)

 

Start DCS again ... does it work well now?

Neg, already tried full reinstall and I cleared out that stuff already.

If you have tried a full reinstall and renaming your dcs folder in your saved games location.

 

And also updating your windows and display driver and you still have no luck please contact support directly here
