[NEED TRACK REPLAY] Pitch fluctuating during turns

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I want to do some instrument-flying, trying to get the numbers to fly a constant 45° banked turn. I noticed pitch attitudes between 0 and +5 degress for a level VSI. Now take away +-1 for finger trouble, thats still a fluctuation of 3 degrees for which I cannot find an explanation.

Why is this?

I am having trouble reproducing this, I don't know whats going on. Quickstart Freeflight Caucasus is the situation. I thought maybe the artificial delay in the VSI made this, but usually I'm trying to fly steady so it should not be too much of a factor. Besides flying a track, I even have problems doing the same screenshots again. I will continue to monitor this.

Have you looked at the wind vector? I tend to fly slow aircraft so the wind vector can have a significant effect when trying to perform a full 360 degree steep turn, moving through the wind requires subtle changes in pitch to maintain the same altitude. Quite satisfying to feel the thump when meeting your own wash!

If this would be the case, the L-39 would be another module which is incorrectly affected by wind.

Steady wind has absolutely zero impact or influence on handling or performance of an aircraft in flight!

I think he was talking about gusty wind.

Wouldn't make sense because pitch and VS changes are obviously necessary in turbulence.

Well, yeah. It's obvious that you'll need to steer in bumpy air and thus not worth a specific mention. Don't know what he meant then.

The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.
