PSYKOnz Posted February 4, 2020 Posted February 4, 2020 hey guys, not sure if this is a bug or if my landings need some work, but recently, since the last update, every time I trap Jester calls bolter, it doesn't seem to matter which wire I catch either, anyone else had this? Tomcat, Tomcat über allen
draconus Posted February 4, 2020 Posted February 4, 2020 Are your trap parameters good or so so? I heard Jester is able to tell bad landings but the correct physics are not implemented yet so you get away with it. Yep, me. Yesterday i catched wire nr3 and came to a full stop but Jester yelled... "bolter...bolter"... LOL. IronMike Posted February 4, 2020 Posted February 4, 2020 This is when you come in too hard. The wire is not an indicator for a good landing alone. Probably you skip-trapped a wire, which means that you touch down so fast or hard and/or low that you hit the deck, jump over a wire and then catch the next one. For him, he just registers the landing and take off again, and hence calls a bolter, which cancels out the subsequent wire call. We'll think about how to alleviate that, but one of the ways will be that we will add more realistic damage (and punishment) for crass landings, such as hook ripping off, and other damage as well, we know of 1 Tomcat that broke in half because it came in hard and the deck pitched up when it touched down. So in this case Jester prolly wont say much anymore. discwalker Posted March 14, 2020 Posted March 14, 2020 If you do a real bolter, then you land successfully, Jester calls out for "Bolter, this is fine" after a full stop, no matter how soft was the landing. in 2.5.5 (Trap sheet is WIP, not indicating always the catched wire.)
