RPY Variable Posted February 6, 2020 Posted February 6, 2020 If I make a mission without steeprpoints, and I start the aircraft and insert a steeprpoints via the STPT menu, does this work? Because nothing happens after I insert that steerpoint. Interl i7 6700k - 32Gb RAM DDR4 - RX 590 8GB - Sentey 32"2560x1440 - Saitek X-55 - TrackIr 3
Emmy Posted February 6, 2020 Posted February 6, 2020 You can’t make steerpoints from scratch yet. Feature is still WIP. But you can make a stack of steerpoints anchored on your home base and then edit those existing steerpoints as needed. You could, for example, ADD 20 steerpoints stacked up on or very near the Nellis TACAN for the NTTR map. RPY Variable Posted February 6, 2020 Author Posted February 6, 2020 Yes, adding some more steerpoints before mission seems to to the trick. Thanks! Interl i7 6700k - 32Gb RAM DDR4 - RX 590 8GB - Sentey 32"2560x1440 - Saitek X-55 - TrackIr 3
QuiGon Posted February 6, 2020 Posted February 6, 2020 I really don't understand what takes ED so long to implement this feature?! Most of it is already there as you can already select new waypoints and enter coordinates for them. The only thing missing is to make them appear on the HSI/HSD/HUD. That can't be that difficult? It was already implemented on day one of the Hornet IIRC... It's the single most wanted feature that I'm looking forward to for the Viper atm. Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
jonsky7 Posted March 23, 2020 Posted March 23, 2020 Sorry to hijack this thread, has something else happened to break the steerpoints since this post? I've added multiple waypoints to a mission, but only steerpoint 1 gives me any guidance information, I use the steerpoint increment button on the ICP and it shows Steerpoint 2 on the DED, but the HUD symbology still shows location of SP1, and the autopilot Steer command still flies to SP1. Aircraft is Hot start so I'm assuming proper alignment is pre-done. Am I doing something wrong perhaps? Thanks
Frederf Posted March 23, 2020 Posted March 23, 2020 The problem is that sensors are able to dictate SPI location and SPI location is able to modify waypoint location. What is happening is that when you change from waypoint 1 to waypoint 2 the sensor remains at the same location and the millisecond the 2nd waypoint is selected it slews it from its original location to match the current sensor location (which is also waypoint 1's location). The end effect is all of the waypoints "pile up" at the same location being instantly slewed from their original positions. You should find that if you stow the TGP, enter NAV mode, or otherwise break the sensor-SPI behavior then the other steerpoints won't be corrupted when selected.
