Citation? I've yet to see an -84S anywhere, I've seen A, D, F, G, L and M (SLAM and SLAM-ER variants omitted).

Not need a citation, the name of actual surface launched Harpoon put by ED on the Bazar/World/shapes directory has AGM-84S (S by Surface). Has the only harpoon with a solid-fuel rocket booster and retracted fins on DCS (to be launched by the Mk 141 canister launcher on ships).

In fact has 5 3D versions on DCS Shapes directories.

- AGM-84 (old) generic harpoon version?

- AGM-84D (new) air launcher harpoon

- AGM-84E (old / need update to F/A-18C) SLAM

- AGM-84H (new) SLAM-ER

- AGM-84S (old) RGM-84 surface luncher / UGM-84?.

About ships, remember has missing antiships decoys and ECM/ECCM capabilities. Other point has been build a "realistic" fire / floding propagation, damage crew and ship comparment.

Has very interest fires on some ships, as the USS Belknap Colision with the Aircraft Carrier USS John F. Kennedy with start a fire and the Beknap and the rapid melt of the aluminum superstructure.

Ahh I see you were using the names given in DCS itself, and not the IRL ones. My apologies.

Even so that designation is inaccurate for a surface-ship launched weapon - should be RGM-84.

AGM-84S would mean Air-launched, surface-attack, guided missile 84, surface launched - doesn't really make sense.

The AGM-84S should be called RGM-84(A?)

The RGM-84 and UGM-84 are identical AFAIK, only the UGM-84 is encapsulated until it reaches the surface, once it does, the missile's booster stage propels it out of the capsule in much the same way as it would when launched from a Mk141 canister on board a ship.

If ED could update the AGM-84S, it shouldn't prove too difficult to model an updated booster and retrofit folding fins/wings and control surfaces on the current AGM-84D we have for the Hornet, because apart from that and textures they're identical AFAIK.

It would also mean we have a common missile variant (Block 1C/ -84D) for air-launched and surface-ship launched (and hopefully later, submerged launch) weapons.

It also seems that ships equipped with the SWG-1A FCS can program several waypoints into the RGM-84D, as opposed to just one with the AGM-84D

As a side note AFAIK the BGM-109 designation is the original designation for the Tomahawk, for the variants we have it was updated to RGM/UGM in 1986 http://www.designation-systems.net/dusrm/m-109.html

I believe the UGM-109 also has a capsule, but according to the link above, it propels itself out of the capsule after leaving the tube, leaving some protective covers which are connected between the missile and it's booster. These separate shortly after the missile leaves the surface.

The same goes for the 3M-54E and 3M-54E1, both I think have capsules of some description, then again the 3M-54E also doesn't have it's terminal stage present.

The "main" problem can be the block version and the ship date deployment.

- Block 1 AGM/RGM/UGM-84A in US service and UGM-84B, terminal attack mode that included a pop-up to approximately 1,800 metres (5,900 ft) before diving on the target.

- Block 1B AGM/RGM/UGM-84C, omitted the terminal pop-up.

- Block 1C AGM/RGM/UGM-84D, provided a selectable terminal attack mode.

- Block 1D RGM/AGM-84F larger fuel tank and re-attack capability (only on limited number).

- SLAM ATA (Block 1G) AGM/RGM/UGM-84G re-attack capability and DCIMP / AGM-84H / AGM-84K

- Block 1J proposal upgrade. AGM/RGM/UGM-84J with ship / land capability.

- Block II AGM/RGM/UGM-84L expanded engagement envelope, enhanced resistance to electronic countermeasures and improved targeting, littoral-water anti-ship capability. INS/GPS guiadance.

- Harpoon Block II+ AGM-84N improved GPS and data link.

- Harpoon Block III (canceled)

- Harpoon Block II+ ER expanded range.

About "encapsulated harpoon" only need build the capsule with carry the harpoon missile and the propper funtionality and animations..

UGM-109 only I found the encapsulated sub launched VLS version but not the Torpedo tube version

yes, missing the "terminal stage", ED can be build to help build multy-stage missiles and carrier missiles as ASROC or similar.
