[FIXED] Problems with the C-701?

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I created a small mission in the Mission Editor to practice WMD-7 & C-701 (TV & IR) interaction. The map used is PG, 2x M1A2Abrams as targets (not static objects, but selected via the 'Ground vehicles' button). Targets were correctly locked, missiles fired and the targets were hit directly. But the targets were not destroyed. There was also no status message that the target was damaged / destroyed.

A few things:

1) I think the battle damage messages were removed in the last DCS patch

2) It might be a hit-box bug (some objects must be hit PRECISELY)

3) What did the debrief show?

Motorola 68000 | 1 Mb | Debug port

The JF-17 is not better than the F-16; it's different. It's how you fly that counts.

"An average aircraft with a skilled pilot, will out-perform the superior aircraft with an average pilot."

I've shot the M1 many times with 701 before, with 1 shot 1 kill.

Did U see the explosion of the 701? And how is your debrief says?

After further testing I suspect it's may be a M1A2 hitbox issue(like 150° front and top side).

I've tried shoting the M1A2 M60 T90 T80U T72B 96B, the only problem is M1 in the front. And you can try lock the missile on the ground thus aimming the rear side of top armor or even the ground just around the M1, these can all kill the M1.
