vctpil Posted February 25, 2020 Posted February 25, 2020 Hi, The NAVMC 3500.50C include the use of laser JDAM. Will the laser JDAM be available for the F/A-18C ? Thanks, Vincent IAMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12x 3.7 to 4.8Ghz - 32Go DDR4 3600Mhz - GeForce RTX 3080 - Samsung Odyssey G7 QLED - AIMXY
Gierasimov Posted February 25, 2020 Posted February 25, 2020 I don't think so. LJDAM are much newer than our Hornet is I understand and I never saw that on the systems & weapons list. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3285514&postcount=13 Intel Ultra 9 285K :: ROG STRIX Z890-A GAMING WIFI :: Kingston Fury 64GB :: MSI RTX 4080 Gaming X Trio :: VKB Gunfighter MK.III MCG Ultimate :: VPC MongoosT-50 CM3 :: non-VR :: single player :: open beta
_mu110_ Posted February 26, 2020 Posted February 26, 2020 Unfortunately I believe ED has said that it is outside of the time frame for our Hornet, however they have made exceptions like BRU-55 so eventually this may change, but I wouldn't get your hopes up too much. Bunny Clark Posted February 26, 2020 Posted February 26, 2020 The first LJDAMs were delivered in 2008, which likely puts it out of scope for our circa 2005 model. Actually, does the F/A-18C carry the LJDAM at all? Oil In The Water Hornet Campaign. Bunny's: Form-Fillable Controller Layout PDFs | HOTAS Kneeboards | Checklist Kneeboards

FWIW, the FAS article dates BRU-55/A to 1999, though it lists it as in development and that whole site is pretty well out of date by decades. Having said that, ED has an odd policy of including out-of-scope equipment if it's 1) Conceivable for that unit and 2) They have non-classified info for it with #2 having a much higher priority. For example, the Walleye was really retired alongside the A-7D Corsair II in the 1990s, but since the Hornet could theoretically carry it they included it because the info was there to implement it. I mean even the Super Hornet SAC still cites out of service weapons like the AGm45 being compatible so SO the capability to use weapons no longer inventory still exists. But then again so is AIM9L and AIM7F obsolete and no longer in use.
