Hi All,

After returning to the Hornet after flying the F-16 & JF-17 for the last month, I thought I’d dive into the deep end with come CASE III night carter ops.

Once I managed to trap (4th time lucky; 2 wire), I went to turn on the red flashing light(s) on the tail(s) of the F-18C only to be very disappointed with how bright they are. I’m comparing here to the F-16C & JF-17 at least.

Does anyone know if this is intended or if ED are planning on looking at it?

I only ask as I remember vividly watching the PBS show Carrier almost a decade ago and recall that I saw the light from the red tail lights reflect on the wings etc whenever they flashed (as the aircraft banked overhead the carrier I might add)

Also, how many strobe lights are there supposed to be? One on the outside of each tail?

Cheers!

It's WIP. It's been brought to the attention of ED and hopefully they'll adjust it. In the meantime, if you're interested in a workaround and are willing to sacrifice Integrity Check for MP, check this thread: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=262256
