So which aspects shown in the video are aoutdated excactly and how they present themselves in the current release? :smilewink:

I'm not a tester, so I'm the wrong person to ask. However, I believe there is no short answer to that question. You could try downloading videos from DCS and compare. That should give you an idea.

I think the main reason why its 'outdated' it the fact that the video shows attack tactics you would see in a Steven Seagal movie (Steven -If you read this::( I'm sorry for this compartment.... but it's true) : One man army takes out a whole Carrier without being recognized !

Something that is too arcade for a serious study sim.

Anyway , its good made but as I said before it doesn't represent the truth.

You're saying that Black Shark turned from arcade to a serious study sim from one release version to another? :)

Soriously - I think that presented tactic is all up to movie maker and has almost nothing to do with BS evolving features. I would even risk saying that active ED testers team member would find very few (specific) features form this movie which were already updated. This tells two things. First - there's not many such features (presented in mentioned movie) to point. Second - 6 minut video will not reveal much unless its creator's aim is to

do so.

Now most of I wrote is only my guess. It's possible a tester will burry me in pile of features descriptions in the next few minutes;)

Serious study sim? Different standards mate, this is and always will be an entertainment product, no matter how the PR people call it. So unless somebody is willing to do a hefty investment (read: hundreds of thousands of €) for the appropriate hardware, this will always be a simulation game. And in games you can do things that you would never do in sims: use your fantasy. Sure the Ka-50 can take on a carrier, sure it can take on Santa, sure it can be friends with the Apache, surely it can be used to push back a parked AI aircraft. What you make of it is what you get, and everything you do is fine.

AFM rotor blades, hmmmmmmm blades ***H. Simpson drool***

But still a game ;)

I never said that!

Q: The public demonstrations at shows indicate that Black Shark looks already completed; why are you waiting until 2008 to launch?

A: Black Shark can be played as either a serious study simulation or as a casual game. For those who wish to have the complexity of a serious study simulation, we need to create training lessons with voice-overs that guide the user through the complexities of the various systems, avionics, engines, weapons etc. This can be a very time-intensive process. We also need the time to write the manuals, create exciting missions and campaigns, fully de-bug the code, and get the product into the market place with proper marketing.
