oho Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 Is there a button with which I can turn on / off the labels in-flight? There is a comand which says labels in the F-18-simulation-comands, but when I assign it to a button on the hotas nothing happens when I press the button. I can only set it to on and off in the general setting menu. What am I missing?
Havoc04 Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 If memory serves correctly it is located in the General area. If you mean aircraft and tank labels. Regards.
CBStu Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 I will be watching this. Currently I use Shift + F10 which of course means I take both hands off the throttle and stick.
CBStu Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 Yes, I just tried it for 'All Labels' I cleared the shift-F10 and added a button on my stick. Works great. What a super idea!
Eldur Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 I can barely do LShift + F8 with spreading my pinkie and thumb as far as possible. Remember the default mapping utilizes LShift and won't work with the right Shift key. DCS' default mappings are full with those (same with right hand modifiers and some keys on the far left)...
CBStu Posted March 19, 2020 Posted March 19, 2020 You can't push shift-F10 with one hand? Good question. Now that I look at the keys, there is a R Shift that would be easy to hit w/ F10 w/ one hand. Now I am not sure since I deleted the binding but I always used the left shift. Maybe either shift would work? But even if it did, I had an extra button I wasn't using so it now toggles labels and is super easy to use.
Fri13 Posted March 20, 2020 Posted March 20, 2020 Every module has their own "Show labels" function that you can bind to HOTAS. I have configured almost all modules individually to have labels toggle in joystick button for performing test flights so I can quickly then find the units without hassle. I didn't do it on General but on each module individually. i7-8700k, 32GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 2x 2080S SLI 8GB, Oculus Rift S. i7-8700k, 16GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 1080Ti 11GB, 27" 4K, 65" HDR 4K.
