Diesel_ Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 I’ve installed DCS about two weeks ago and fooled around in the SU25 for a while. Having gotten used to it I wanted a fully clickable cockpit and a western jet. The F14 was the main reason why I installed the sim so it was a bit of a no-brainer. I’ve been at it for a couple of days and I have to stay she’s a handful but sooooo worth it if you get it right. Tonight I managed to do my first AAR on the hoggit training server. I was real happy with it, it took a real long time because of my crappy flying (loads of oscilation) but I powered through. I’m having an absolute blast. Next up I’m going to get familiar with the mission editor to create myself a training syllabus. Also because of the sale I bought myself the F18 and F16. They’ll have to wait a little bit though, I’m having too much fun with the Tomcat. QuiGon Posted March 19, 2020 Posted March 19, 2020 Welcome to the club Diesel! It's great to see a new user getting used to DCS so quickly! Many new users do struggle a lot more with the complexity of this sim than you seem to do! Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

Many new users do struggle a lot more with the complexity of this sim than you seem to do! Oh I'm struggling alright, but I keep looking for answers here on the forums, Youtube or the various manuals available. It is really complex Today I decided to give the hornet a try and it's a whole different beast. Easier to fly but the sensor management makes me dizzy. I've been trying to drop a laser guided bomb and am still unable to make it work. I'm missing something but I'll keep looking Modules: F14B - F18 - F16 - Persian Gulf - Nevada Hardware: Ryzen 9 3900X - 32GB DDR4 @ 3200MHz - ASUS Strix Vega 64 - HOTAS Cougar (stock :()
