frumpy Posted March 20, 2020 Posted March 20, 2020 Hi there, I did a F-16 testrun, nice module! I like the calibration of the FBW, it allows some very precise and easy flying. I noticed some uncommanded yawing, don't know if this is a feature or not. It's in the trackfile at about 14:30 into the flight.f16shake.trk
Theodore42 Posted March 21, 2020 Posted March 21, 2020 Hmm, so I don't have to watch a 14 min track file, does it look something like this? If so, you're going too fast. Max allowed speed for the F16 is 800 kts. The F-16 also has some beta worbble if you do: High G turn -> unload -> roll 180 -> High G turn as fast as possible. Helpful?

Theodore42 Posted March 21, 2020 Posted March 21, 2020 Check this: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=253772&highlight=speed+oscillation Ya, those guys are going 900kts and ya, you're going to get yaw like that in the real thing for sure. It will usually happen at 800kts in RL and DCS (if you have at least a little turbulance on in DCS).
mkiii Posted April 28, 2020 Posted April 28, 2020 If you watched the track Frumpy provided, you would have seen that his flight was at mostly approach speed and gear down, apart from an initial period of about 560kts. I'm not sure if it is the track glitching or what actually was flown, but the only uncommanded yawing I saw was due to flying at, and below stall speed. The stall followed by a nosedive into an apartment block is probably something you should expect. That being said - the current iteration of this aircraft (maybe others too - I havent checked), is VERY prone to sudden departure when picking up turbulence from another aircraft. Even the Wingman F-16 in the Caucuses Free Flight Insta-mission. It's like getting behind a 747 wingtip wortex in a hang glider. Tht's not happening here though, the other aircraft are miles away at different altitudes.
