Ruger392 Posted March 31, 2020 Posted March 31, 2020 (edited) Title. The laser doesn't fire when I switch from AUTO to MAN with the WMD-7, or at least it doesn't act like it. There is no flashing LSD notification and the laser code at the bottom does not flash. The LSR notification continues its periodic flashing, so I assume that the laser is still ranging. It almost looks like pressing the button does nothing and it's still in AUTO mode even though it says MAN. The laser still works; I can drop a bomb in AUTO mode and it will lase the target just fine. Additionally, for some time (about 30 seconds) after the laser deactivates, MAN will work again. But after I turn back to the target or go back to my orbit, it stops functioning. It was working earlier in this same flight; at some point for some unknown reason it just decided to stop. Anyone have a clue what this could be? Edited April 1, 2020 by uboats

foxwxl Posted April 1, 2020 Posted April 1, 2020 I've just tested the MAN lasering with GBU12, the laser was fired as intended in manual mode. Are U metting this problem with MP cold start? Deka Ironwork Tester Team
Ruger392 Posted April 2, 2020 Author Posted April 2, 2020 I've just tested the MAN lasering with GBU12, the laser was fired as intended in manual mode. Are U metting this problem with MP cold start? Yes, cold start in multiplayer. I thought I was just forgetting a switch, button, or function during startup but MAN mode does still work - just not for very long, and only after lasing in AUTO mode. After dying and getting a new jet, MAN worked again. I imagine that the issue will be difficult to reproduce since it only showed up about 30 minutes into a flight and can be fixed just by respawning.

Did U turn on the ECS(enviroment control system) to provide cooling to certain system? System can be overheated thus not useable if U forget the ECS. Deka Ironwork Tester Team

I don't think it was overheated since the laser (and guided bombs) still worked in AUTO mode and it was still ranging (LSR continued flashing).
