meaning is with ins knob in norm, i insert n42.52.05 nad it reverts to n25.15.09............so i have to switch knob to STORE HDG and only after to NORM and NAV

Format is N/S DD° MM.M' for latitude and E/W DDD° MM.M' for longitude. D is degrees, M is minutes, and NSEW are the directions north south east west as entered by ICP 2 8 6 4 respectively.

For example N 42°52.05' is ICP 2-4-2-5-2-0 (or 1)-ENTR.

You can't enter ....05' as that's too many digits. What happens if you enter N425205 is the initial "4" is lost off the left side of the display and the value N25°20.5' is entered. Because this is so far from your actual position the alignment should fail to progress.
