Why atleast a rough HMD is needed

It has been offered to integrate it into JF-17 if customer wants, but nothing beyond the automatic avionics panel having a button for HMD meaning the power bus has some kind of accommodation for future upgrade, that is it.

 

While I’m sure some weathering is done too much, there’s plenty of examples of dirty pits still in use. There are some really dirty JF-17s out there I would love to show if the forum wouldn’t block me from uploading them twice.

 

BTW apparently there is some LUA coding that defines equipment by date, so it may be a feature of the dynamic campaign or future ME option, it will be pretty fun.

 

While I would usually disagree with you Fri13 if Chengdu said “if you buy our TK-14 helmet you could plug it in to the airplane as soon as you get it” then maybe there’s some reasoning, but they haven’t said anything like that, and for now it’s a pipe dream. We might see it with Block 3, and even if we do it could be years before previous blocks are upgraded if at all, at the moment there is no evidence of any JF-17 getting physical upgrades from a later production standard, even after overhaul.

 

I cant find any info on Chinese HMS beyond TK-14, which appears to just be a monocle like the early Russian sites. It’s not like these systems are widely known even if they were offered

Personally I would say, there is no much difference whether you have an HMD or not, if the jeff is still carrying PL5E II as its main SRM.

 

It's very reasonable that PAF did not order HMD for current block of jeff.

That is the next thing shaHeen-1 will be asking for R73/Aim-9x like SRM for the JF-17....

Oh and while we're at it, why not strap a second engine to the airplane? I mean other airplanes also have two engines! I can't use the full potential of jeff if i have only one engine, it would have so much more thrust! And a second pair of wings, imagine all the new weapon stations, wow i could really kick some asses with that! And the Death Star laser beam and a "i win button"..... it could be enabled/disabled in the ME for the people who don't like it. :doh::doh::music_whistling:

 

Sorry for that sarcasm post but i really hope Deka is not ruining this great module by implementing fictional stuff. If the RL JF-17 is getting a HMD with Block x and Deka decides to upgrade our Jeff to that Block it would be fine but just implementing it because someone wants it to win in DCS airquake battles? No, please.

It doesn't work that way. Just like it doesn't work with the HMD like you think it would.

@Deka - I know it's not like this on the real thing, but can we have an engine that's 3x as powerful? It would be theoretically possible to do that IRL so I think we should have it in-game. After all, there's already an engine in it so just making it more powerful isn't unrealistic. Make it a mission editor option so those who want it can have it.

Well the chinese are developing a new engine for there jeff, the guizhou WS-13 engine. We should get that stronger engine sooner or later.

I’m sure it will come eventually, however PAF has announced they will stick with RD-93 for Block 3, perhaps MA version
