Andy t Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 Besides Thrustmaster and WinWing are there any other manufacturers that produce throttles that are closely based on modern jets and ideally available to purchase now.
VpR81 Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 (edited) Throttletek offers a F-14 Tomcat throttle replica, but it is very expensive. Price is 800 US-$.Besides that they have only civilian airliner throttle replicas in stock. edit: according to their homepage, they offer custom throttles production. You tell them what you want and they will make one for you. At least this is how i interpret this offer. https://throttletek.com/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghmjbvIElsQ Edited April 29, 2020 by VpR81 Phanteks EvolvX / Win 11 / i9 12900K / MSI Z690 Carbon / MSI Suprim RTX 3090 / 64GB G.Skill Trident Z DDR5-6000 / 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD / 2TB PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSD / 2TB SATA SSD / 1TB SATA SSD / Alphacool Eisbaer Aurora Pro 360 / beQuiet StraightPower 1200W RSEAT S1 / VPC T50 CM2 + 300mm extension + Realsimulator F18 CGRH / VPC WarBRD + TM Warthog grip / WinWing F/A-18 Super Taurus + F-15EX / 4x TM Cougar MFD / Slaw Device RX Viper V3 / HP Reverb G2

VpR81 Posted April 30, 2020 Posted April 30, 2020 That's sad to hear, as all of their throttles look pretty nice and as if they are from high quality. Hand made isn't bad in general, often it's a sign of high quality and exclusive manufacturing. Every Ferrari is completely hand made. And i wouldn't call these cars beeing from bad quality. Very dissapointing this doesen't count for Throttletek... I was thining about getting in contact with them, but you just convinced me to stay with my Warthog throttle. Hand made super cars might not look so good close up at all. But as always, it's what's under the hood that counts. A printed USD 800 will not boost confidence in me. I was sure they were cast. norbot Posted April 30, 2020 Posted April 30, 2020 You could also have a look at the trottles from Virpil: https://virpil-controls.eu/vpc-mongoost-50cm2-throttle.html They are not in stock now, but they restock their shop every few weeks.
The_Nephilim Posted April 30, 2020 Posted April 30, 2020 Replicating real military aircraft for the consumer flight sim market, ... not that I am aware of. There are several throttles that exactly mimic those found in general aviation, but military? ... I do not believe so. hmm your in luck but not sure who these guys will sell too but it says 3 levels one is a desktop product but they have all the major planes and such: https://www.bugeyetech.com/ Intel Ultra 265K 5.5GHZ / Gigabyte Z890 Aorus Elite / MSI 4070Ti Ventus 12GB / SoundBlaster Z SoundCard / Corsair Vengance 64GB Ram / HP Reverb G2 / Samsung 980 Pro 2TB Games / Crucial 512GB M.2 Win 11 Pro 21H2 / ButtKicker Gamer / CoolerMaster TD500 Mesh V2 PC Case

Andy t Posted May 3, 2020 Author Posted May 3, 2020 I should have clarified that the primary reason for "replica" is the fact that I would like to have more special purpose switches instead of a a bunch of 5 way hats. I just got CM2 throttle and while the build quality is a little better than Warthog's, I feel they just threw a bunch of 5 way hats on it and called it done. The problem with those hats is that at times you can activate wrong position, depending on how your hand fits. Also, the two 5 way hats that are position on the side (by your thumb) are too close together and feel identical. I often can't distinguish, without looking, which hat I am using. Also, and more importantly, things like the speed brake switch (momentary out, latched in), F-16 DGFT switch and other special switches aren't there, so I am left trying to use a 5 way hat as a rocker switch, etc...
