Hello all:

After fumbling around in mission editor, as well as searching Google and this forum for how to set a player jet for a cold-start and on runway, I have yet to come across a thread.

Is this a hardcoded feature (cold-start from ramp only, never runway)? If there is a way to do this, that would be great. I checked LUA script section but could not find something of said sort.

Thanks in advance for help me thinker this.

A work around would be to use the park position closest to the runway.

Boom! Dead on! It works beautifully. Thank you, again Pmiceli.

You are welcome. Glad I found it myself a few weeks ago

An important note. This will be wiped out after every update and must be redone. If you don't and you open a mission where you used it, all of the affected ground starts will become turning points. If you then save the mission, you will have a messed up mission.

A second note. Do not used this for AI planes. They will try to takeoff in the direction of the first waypoint and crash into whatever might be in the way.

Only use this for client slots.

Use a mod manager / installer such as JSGME and it won't.

I use OvGME and, yes, it is wiped, but the mod manager makes re-installation very easy.

Saved games mods don't get wiped but this isn't a Saved Games mod.

Oh, sure it gets wiped if you don't disable it before updating. But you're using a mod manager so you're good anyway.

A word of advice/caution reference this modification and constantly using either JSGME or OvGME to load it.

I have been modifying this lua file for the past four years. The code in this file is constantly being updated by ED and that includes very important updates to the way AI behaves and not just aircraft.

If you use the mod manager method you will eventually encounter DCS issues to the point of thinking your install is bugged, that is because you are running an old version of the file. I recommend you simply manually update the latest lua file following each update and this method works every time without issue. Cheers.
