Close Combat situation Question ?

what is the best mode for close combat cuz somehow vertical scan take longer time than usual to lock targets if i am facing F-18 or F-16 he will shoot first if we are head to head i dont know if i am right or wrong but is vertical scan slower than any other aircraft ? and if it is slower what is the best mode ?

All modes are kinda crap right now since there is something wrong with each of them regarding antenna speed and search patterns.

 

For now if you want to do WVR fighting, i'd say Boresight Acquisition is the best mode.

but for Boresight u need a visual contact right ?

 

and yes i can see that search patterns is so odd cuz there is no way i will wait for the pattern to scan from down to up that is nonsense

If target is above your nose but you cannot put your nose on him, try vertical search

 

if the target is infront of you, use boresight

 

There is no "best" for all situation. They are for a good reason different.

I found it is OK. Choose your modes wisely.

Considered PL-5 as your only SRM, boresight could be used when you have the idea where the target is, otherwise HA should be considered.

 

Once the VS is fixed, it is the best suiter for turn fight.
