Furiz Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 According to the hud symbology that is the minimum range it can be fired as far as I know, everything closer than that it shouldnt work, or you are too close so the blast can dmg you too if it hits.

Not seen that mark shown anywhere in manuals or guides for the AIM-9. It is mentioned in the EA guide as you said on p275-276, but that is for the AIM-7. Nothing on the AIM-9 on p266., but presumably it is the same thing, just themanual needs updating. You're talking about the one on the inside at around 3 o'clock in my image. We are talking about the one ringed in red on the outside. We've established that it is gun range. You're right, I was confused myself as I just went back to watch it, and realised he was already at Rmin. Thought it was a seperate cue for missile to target range. -
