Raviar Posted June 7, 2020 Posted June 7, 2020 I can bring my head out of the canopy in Viggen and F-14
panton41 Posted June 7, 2020 Posted June 7, 2020 This has been reported before across nearly every module and the problem is your real-life head (with TrackIR or VR) can do stuff that the real-life pilot can't (because they'll bump their head and you won't) and fixing it would involving changing how 6-DOF tracking is handled at the core in a way that would be less realistic for more normal movements. In VR you can even stand up and walk around, which is properly tracked in room-scale assuming your hardware supports it, which leads to weird results. draconus Posted June 8, 2020 Posted June 8, 2020 There are definitely modules with correct limits - like F-15C last time I checked with TIR. Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
Raviar Posted September 14, 2020 Author Posted September 14, 2020 No IT IS NOT TRUE, I tried FCS3, F-5E, M2K, Viper, Hornet, Warthog and many more, its not happening, I dont know about VR, but its not happening by TrackIR at least. BUT its is happening in Mighty(EXTAR Super HERO power in DCS) TOMCAT and Viggen!
VC Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 If the TrackIR movement limits are wrong and allow this that should be fixed. Can you reproduce these head positions with no tracking just using view commands? But as was said, in VR you can physically move wherever you like. If your room is big enough you can fly the plane sitting on the wingtip. I would like to point out though that IL2 solves this problem very elegantly by having a collision model between the VR head position and the canopy. Inside the head movement is unaffected, but as soon as you "bump" the glass it starts moving the whole cockpit with your head so you can't stick it outside. No idea how much of a "core cange" this would be for DCS. VC =X51= Squadron is recruiting! X51 website: https://x51squadron.com/ Join our Discord: https://discord.gg/d9JtFY4
draconus Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 If the TrackIR movement limits are wrong and allow this that should be fixed. Can you reproduce these head positions with no tracking just using view commands? Yes. You just need to bring your head (viewpoint) closer to mirrors/canopy rail to see outside bug. At default Z and into the back the limits are correct. Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
