Considering the vast timeframe the DCS world represents, there are a staggeringly small number of AI units available for mission building.

Do ED plan to increase this at some time?

Will they be released as 'asset packs' like WWII or China?

Even just low-fidelity (like many of the existing AI units) placeholders could be a good option until they can be fully reproduced to current standards.

Laptop Pilot. Alienware X17, i9 11980HK 5.0GHz, 16GB RTX 3080, 64GB DDR4 3200MHz, 2x2TB NVMe SSD. 2x TM Warthog, Hornet grip, Virpil CM2 & TPR pedals, Virpil collective, Cougar throttle, Viper ICP & MFDs,  pit WIP (XBox360 when traveling). Quest 3S.

Wishlist: Tornado, Jaguar, Buccaneer, F-117 and F-111.

ED 3D modelers has on continue "assemble chain" to build new \ retrofit old 3D models on DCS. By now has a serie of models on develop, you can chech them on official newsletter and "unofficial" road map. No dates by now for release.

That's quite some list! At least it shows the issue is being addressed.

Personally ED have their hands full updating all the legacy units, the vast majority of units are outdated and definitely outclassed compared to newer, free units.

I would be perfectly happy paying for upgrade packs or asset packs.

Modules I own: F-14A/B, F-4E, Mi-24P, AJS 37, AV-8B N/A, F-5E-3, MiG-21bis, F-16CM, F/A-18C, Supercarrier, Mi-8MTV2, UH-1H, Mirage 2000C, FC3, MiG-15bis, Ka-50, A-10C (+ A-10C II), P-47D, P-51D, C-101, Yak-52, WWII Assets, CA, NS430, Hawk.

Terrains I own: South Atlantic, Syria, The Channel, SoH/PG, Marianas.

System:

GIGABYTE B650 AORUS ELITE AX, AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Corsair Vengeance DDR5-5200 32 GB, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070S FE, Western Digital Black SN850X 1 TB (DCS dedicated) & 2 TB NVMe SSDs, Corsair RM850X 850 W, NZXT H7 Flow, MSI G274CV.

Build payware assets packs has "unpopular", to improve legacy Lomac / FC that can take time......

Check on my signature the "list of vacant models" and chech the model on green and others colors.... That is none a fast or a easy task... That require a "exclusive" 3D modeler / texturizar / animator / coder team (some dozens).

I know it's unpopular, but I think people need to accept that the cost of upgrading the current pool of assets isn't 0, it'll need to be funded somehow. Though unlike the WWII asset pack, it shouldn't have as big an impact on multiplayer (the assets are still there just with an updated model for players purchasing it), so it shouldn't be as unpopular.

The old 3D models has been erase and replace by the new 3D models when ED remade / build them from scrath. That has make on DCS from LOMAC times.

If you "impose" a "DCS core base AI unit" payware, you go to broke all old camping.
