I have a 4 ship flight, all clients. I want to launch with quick intervals. Three aircraft can hook up with cat 1, 2 and 3. But #4 cannot get deck crew service and hook up on cat 4 until #3 has launched.

Is there any special order you need to do things in to make it happen? Or is it just an IRL fact that they never hook up aircraft to cat 3 and 4 simultaneously?

IRL, cat3 shoots, then cat4. The A/C behind JBD3 must hold and cannot be loaded until cat4 shoots. The tower (Primary) cannot get a clear visual of cat4 with a bird on cat3. And there is just not a lot of room between them. There is a delay for safety purposes. Someone died a while back and changes were made.

Now, IRL, Cat 4 will be loaded but will not be hooked (tension) until the Waist shooter is finished with Cat 3.

You cannot shoot an A/C past cat 3 while it is loaded IRL!

I hope that helps and did not confuse you.

So the way I need to do it is to hook up 1, 2 and 3 while letting 4 wait behind the JBD? Then after 3 has launched, 4 can hook up and launch, and catch up with the other guys?

Or, I guess, launch in the order: Cat 3, Cat 1, Cat 2, Cat 4, in order to minimize the intervals. That way #4 could start hooking up as soon as #3 has launched, while #1 and #2 are launching.

Yes you could do it the latter way. Remember, you can do it simultaneously off cat3/cat1 then cat 4 and 2 to expedite join up. We called it a "Covey" launch. It's a 4 ship go. Let 1and 3 go, then 2 and 4. It's not the way I think you originally wanted (I think) but it is realistic and get you pretty close to what you want to accomplish.

Hope this helps. I'm curious lol. Let me know how it goes. I haven't tried it myself yet as I'm just enjoying CV Operations all by myself.

BTW, Don't forget your standard CASE 1 departure. Neither A/C should cross the BRC and still remain at 500 until 7 miles. I could be wrong a little there (I am not a pilot) but watching these guys do it all my life; I understand it. Being a Flight Deck Chief, I had to be familiar with most of it.

Trying to follow your video guide and have got to the bit where you are placing the static objects on the carrier deck. How do you make the carrier deck show? I zoom in and just see the icon?

Yes CAT 4 overlaps CAT 3 slightly so the issue is a safety reason. Its not mostly an issue in MP sequencing, just perhaps in single player missions
