Hi all, fairly new to running DCS properly ( only really 4 months now..) As you can see from my signature, I have a pretty excellent system....

I have not been doing much campaigns or big missions etc, to be honest, most of my flying is using simple missions, for practicing patterns and carrier landings or refueling etc.

However, I seem to regularly get dips in FPS to around 30 - 40, flying around Kobuleti for example and there is just me and no additional objects...!!!

I have heat and motion blur low and also shadows, but surely my PC should have no trouble getting a solid 60 FPS ALL the time in these situations? Overflying the supercarrier or on deck there, it goes down to around 30......

My monitor runs at 3820, but even so.....

Any ideas or tips?

System specs: PC1 :Scan 3XS Ryzen 5900X, 64GB Corsair veng DDR4 3600, EVGA GTX 3090 Win 10, Quest Pro, Samsung Odyssey G9 Neo monitor.

Post a screen with other options and we'll have a look. Two things to remember, though:

1) there is no hardware on the planet capable of always maintaining 60 fps at 4k in DCS 2.5.6 with settings maxed out (depends on mission, obviously);

2) MSAA, SSAA and SSLR are fps murderers and one shouldn't crank them higher than necessary even with 2080TI (althoughg "necessary" is subjective term :D)

What’s your MSAA & SSAA set to? I get a constant 60fps, although 1440p & not 4K.
