JediMan9 Posted July 19, 2020 Posted July 19, 2020 Hello All, I have searched the forums but haven't seen anyone with this issue yet. If it already has been answered, please point me there. I have a Valve Index running SteamVR, current DCS World, etc. When I launch an instant action free flight, regardless of aircraft chosen, in my goggles I see the aircraft splash screen with loading stuck a something like "world 1/60". On my monitor, the game has loaded with the aircraft cockpit visible. I can click the "fly" button and the game runs. My goggle view is still stuck on loading and on my monitor I can see the world and fly the aircraft. Has anyone run into a problem like that before and do you have any ideas on how to fix? Any help appreciated! JediMan
Taz1004 Posted July 19, 2020 Posted July 19, 2020 Is it only on instant action free flight? And when you move your headset, does the view on your monitor move? Also post your system spec. Better Smoke - Better Trees Caucasus - Better Trees Syria - Better Trees Mariana - Clear Canopy Glass
JediMan9 Posted July 19, 2020 Author Posted July 19, 2020 So far I have just started running DCS World and have only tried on instant action. When I pan the Index around the splash screen appears fixed to wherever I point. On my monitor, the view pans as you would expect it to. It's like the Index forgot to make that final screen refresh to get in game. Taz1004 Posted July 19, 2020 Posted July 19, 2020 When I pan the Index around the splash screen appears fixed to wherever I point. On my monitor, the view pans as you would expect it to. Not following. The splash screen appears "fixed" to wherever you "point"? I'm guessing you mean the screen in HMD is fixed on splash screen and the view on your monitor is following your HMD's movement. Sounds to me like your Index is working as HMD but just not able to draw the image on its screens. What refresh rate did you set your Index at? Perhaps try resetting Index or even reinstalling it. JediMan9 Posted July 25, 2020 Author Posted July 25, 2020 Taz, yes, the splash screen freezes so regardless of where I turn my view, the splash screen is fixed in front of my eyes. The view on my monitor pans wherever I point with the Index. I had the Index set at 120 refresh and tried it at 80. Same results. I'll try a re-install next. Thanks.
JediMan9 Posted July 26, 2020 Author Posted July 26, 2020 Ok, so partially solved. I disabled the SLI between my two GTX 1080s and the problem has gone away. Frame rates are pretty bad but it does seem to reliably launch properly now. Guess I need to look at one of those 2080s now.
