How to best destroy guarded silkworms

Hi!

I am trying to destroy a couple of silkworms that is heavily guarded by sams and what not so I dont want to get too close...

I was trying to use the Harm missile but the silkworms never showed up on the harm-display...

 

What other tips do you have to destroy these from as far distance as possible.?

Use HARM for suppression of SAM sites near Silkworm target, and AGM-154A for Silkworm complex. If you are single ship it will be a little more difficult, but not impossible.

HARM will not target Silkworm Radar as it is not listed in its memory as a threat emitter - its not a SAM.

If you know their set-up position well enough, you can throw a GBU-38 at their radar station and be done.

If you are more interested in efficiency, get the GBU-38s, a TGP, climb to space, set up all JDAMs, drop and then rince and repeat until nothing is left anymore.

 

Can also be done with JSOWs, but the JDAM won't get shot down so you have a higher chance of success with those.

 

But if it's more for a "realistic" scenario or longer flights, you might need other weapons / additional Flights / planes with you.

Will probably need to rinse and repeat many times, since GBU-31s and GBU-38s are quite inaccurate in windy missions.

Walleyes don't get intercepted, can be dropped from 25+nm (provided you fly high and fast), can be remotely guided on the way down using the DL pod and pack a pretty powerful punch.

 

 

However, if you're dealing with SA-10 sites, you'll need to fly low instead.
