some1 Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 (edited) This is not how shadows look in real life. And that amount of flickering will ruin any motion smoothing algorithm in VR. It's a problem with all helicopters in DCS since one of the graphics engine updates. But to make matters worse, the Hind has glass canopies instead of solid roof that shields from the sun, so the shadow flickering will be an almost constant thing. PL_Harpoon Posted August 3, 2020 Posted August 3, 2020 Yeah, I hope so too. A good solution for them would be to just swap the blade models for an animated transparent disc that does not cast any shadows.
dali Posted August 3, 2020 Posted August 3, 2020 you don't see that in real life, this is what camera sees
Mars Exulte Posted August 3, 2020 Posted August 3, 2020 I wish they'd overhaul their prop and rotors effects and get rid of the exaggerated stuff, too. Де вороги, знайдуться козаки їх перемогти. 5800x3d * 3090 * 64gb * Reverb G2
hazzer Posted August 3, 2020 Posted August 3, 2020 you don't see that in real life, this is what camera sees THIS. Just like the prop aircraft issue https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=4442676#post4442676 For some reason everything we see is like how a camera would show the effects, not at all something that is present in real life at all. In fact in vr the shadows on the helis are pretty nauseating. RTX 2080ti, I7 9700k, 32gb ram, SSD, Samsung Odyssey VR, MSFFB2, T-50 Throttle, Thrustmaster Rudder Pedals
