[REPORTED]Weapon Select Switch not setting range correctly

According to the manual (p59/60), selecting sidewinders on the weapon select switch is supposed to set radar at a range of 10/20 miles depending on version, but it just goes to 40 for me.

 

Similarly, the AIM-120 selection should bring up 80/160, but I am only seeing 40.

You mean the radar's 'SET' function is not retaining your pre-sets? It worked the last time I flew A/A.

No, I mean the weapon select is not selecting the correct ranges as per manual on P59/60.

Are you in TWS or RWS? SET is only an RWS function.

Just go into any stock ED mission, and select the various weapons. you'll see what I mean.

 

They don't behave as per manual in terms of range:

• Center Push [Left Shift+ S]: Activates AIM-9 and displays the priority missile. Commands a radar antenna four bar elevation, 90° azimuth scan, 10-mile range selection for AIM-9P and AIM-9M / 20-mile range for AIM-9X, and interleaved prf.

• Right [Left Shift+ D]: Activates AIM-120 and displays priority missile. Commands a radar antenna four bar elevation, 140° azimuth scan, 80 mile range selection for AIM-120B / 160 mile range election for AIM-120C, and interleaved prf.

I think you can just ignore those defaults as listed in manual for now. I use the SET function to configure how I want it once airborne.

 

This looks like something to be included in the data cartridge functionality ED has planned, but the work around is easy enough for now.

Yes, thanks. A workaround is OK. I was just wondering - like a lot of Hornet issues - whether this is a bug, or just not implemented yet. usually, the manual would say if it is not implemented in EA yet.
