Yeah I would have died many times over now.

For me this is by far the toughest mission of the campaign.

2 days now and still have not made it, tomorrow is a new day though lol.

The missions do progressively get harder as new things are added.

Man I thought I had it today finally. Got all the tanks and figured I would get clearance to return to the Stennis.

Denied! And I did not make it through it - will see what tomorrow brings. This is one tough mission for sure.

I have the hardest time finding those dang tanks even after I have done it a time or two, I still struggle the next go around at it.

What do you mean denied. Just checked when you hit all the tanks and troops you will get clearance to go back to Stennis and the frequency etc. If when you contacted them they denied you to land this is normally because of selecting one of the Cruiser ships and not the Stennis in the radio list by mistake. ( Easy done). Obviously a cruiser will deny you landing. 

Hope this helps.  Now after recent radar updates you can use the GMT Radar mode to spot moving vehicles and make a lock and they will appear in your TGP. But you need to brake that lock by designating a spot on the ground and set up a moving  lock using your TGP and laser before dropping a bomb.

No after knocking out the three tanks you are then directed to take care of those remaining fleeing in trucks with guns.

That is what I was talking about. I flew into the ground when I attempted to get them with my guns lol.

Will try this one fresh again tomorrow. Hope I can find those dang tanks again.

no need  to  find the  tanks  again,  take  note  or  the  co  ords in the  tpod     for  each  tank  than its  a piece  of  cake  to  find  them  next  time

Lol on the bright side Rise of the Persian Lion may be out by the time I complete this one.

That was weird. Going after my first attempt this morning, got the mortar and the first tank with first bomb drops each.

Circling back around to get setup for the second tank run I had no bombs left... what in the world happened to my other 4 bombs.

Edit:  Must have accidently triggered jettison some how I guess.

 

Tried another attempt but still can not get this mission. I may just have to consider my campaign complete after 8 missions not looking like I am going to be able to get this one for whatever reason. This last time I never could even find the third tank. Several hours of trying this mission  and just not getting anywhere.

Did you try using the radar in gmt mode to locate the third tank which is moving? It will pick it up in an instant. If you have not used this mode before look at u tubes on it.

Sometimes just have a break for a day or so and go back fresh. Best thing is to practice the techniques you need. Sounds like you almost had it beat when you flew into the ground that time.

Well I had another go, and this time got all three tanks and I thought all the fleeing vehicles with my guns, but got mission fail.

Sigh...

I will take a day or two off and give another go.

Probably a good idea.

Not sure how you got a mission fail? You will know when you have killed all three vehicles you will get a "Well Done! All is quiet here......." message. Once you have this you will have instructions to go back to the Stennis. There is no time limit or ground fire from these last vehicles so take your time and carry out some accurate strafes. Deep breath

Yeah it appeared I got them all with my guns, I even circled low around the area 2-3 times to be sure and never saw any more ( playing with limited icons).

But I never got any messages and just headed back to Stennis then got mission failed as I was just a few miles away from the carrier. So apparently there must have been one left but don't know why I could not find anyone else.

I will check it out that nothing has changed in DCS updates. But sometimes vehicles take a while to fully explode. But if you don’t get that message you will fail back at the Stennis. Not had anyone raise this before though?

Could be I just missed one but don't know how I could have found it either.

I strafed them from directly behind them and thought I might have got them all especially after not finding one afterwards. If there was one left shouldn't it have been represented by a red limited icon?

I will be trying again soon.

Probably a month or two. Need to make sure it all works with the 2.7 update and new clouds. 

Just finished an adaption of the Serpents Head 2 with super carrier as requested by a lot of fellow pilots. Will be issued free if you have the normal version.

Got time to check the convoy of  vehicles out. All good. Killed vehicles and correct message came up. Did it three times.
